About

I’m Mark, a Manchester-based portrait and documentary photographer. My work looks at social documentary, gender, mental health and family.

I began full-time photography in 2018 with Redeye’s Lightbox programme, culminating in the well-received exhibition Big Stick at Liverpool Indepents Biennial, where it was selected for a pop-up exhibition at Tate Liverpool.

My work has subsequently been exhibited around the UK, most recently at FORMAT 21 and HOME Manchester. Two of my portraits were shortlisted for the Royal Photographic Society’s International Prize Exhibition 2021. My recent project You Caught Us At A Strange Time has been made into a photobook. My next project will look at gender-imbalanced occupations in the UK workforce.
